“Positivity guru” and occasional DJ Emile Ratelband is 69 years old, but he believes he‘s only 49.

as a “young god,” Ratelband asked the Dutch courts to legally change his age on Monday to improve his quality of life. He insists that he‘s discriminated against by jobs and dating apps because on paper, he‘s too old.

Here‘s his argument, translated by the :

“When I‘m 69, I am limited. If I‘m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work. When I‘m on Tinder and it says I‘m 69, I don‘t get an answer. When I‘m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.”

As the points out, “luxurious” might be a euphemism — in a translation by , Ratelband says, “When I‘m 49 with [this face], then I‘m rammed.”

Ratelband insists that he feels 20 years younger than 69, and that he‘s even willing to postpone his pension benefits by 20 years. Claiming that trans people are allowed to legally change their documented sex, he believes he should be allowed to change his legal date of birth.

But in the Netherlands, people have to provide a statement from an “expert” confirming their “permanent conviction” that their gender assigned at birth isn‘t the gender they identify as. The Hague who qualifies as an “expert.” There‘s no legal precedent for changing one‘s age in the Netherlands.

According to his , Ratelband has seven children and “a steady relationship with the woman of his dreams.” But according to , he is “still dating” and wants to have more children with surrogate mothers, which is why he‘s actively swiping on Tinder.

Why not just change his age on Tinder, instead of going through the legal system?

“I don’t want to lie,” he told the . “I want to be myself, so don’t force me to lie.”
