evacuated its offices in Columbus Circle after a bomb threat on Thursday night.
Police said they responded to a report of a bomb threat at about 10:07 p.m.
The caller claimed five bombs were spread around Time Warner Center, said police sources.
Officers searched the building, and gave an all clear at about 11:50 p.m. Columbus Circle was reopened by 11:58 p.m., said police.
Some of the news network’s personalities began tweeting about the evacuation around 10:40 p.m., as CNN’s studios emptied out.
“Right now CNN is airing taped programming due to the disruption,” CNN media reporter Brian Stelter tweeted at 10:49 p.m.
Stelter said he learned of the evacuation while he visited the Whole Foods Store in the basement of Time Warner Center, and that cops closed off W. 58th St.
Police said they are investigating.
