Now that it‘s September, the hottest days of the year are (hopefully) firmly in the rearview. But for Childish Gambino, it still “Feels Like Summer.”

Donald Glover dropped a new video for his musical alter ego on Saturday. It‘s a 5-minute journey through a summertime neighborhood populated by black celebrities (mostly hip hop stars), beautifully animated by artist .

The video follows a young man — who looks suspiciously like a cartoon version of Glover-as-Earn, from Atlanta — as he strolls down the street, taking in the playful summer scenes. Occasionally he pauses and a dream-like interlude kicks in.

At one point during these sequences, Michelle Obama appears behind a crying, MAGA hat-wearing Kanye West and gives him a hug. Shortly after, we see Beyoncé standing motionless, eye closed and wearing a shirt that reads “R.I.P. Fredo Santana,” referencing the 27-year-old rapper .

Much like , “This Is America,” there‘s a lot to unpack here.
