McDonald‘s is debuting a new breakfast item: McCafe Donut Sticks.
The confection will arrive in participating restaurants nationwide on Feb. 20, according to a news release. They look similar to Dunkin‘ Donut Fries.
The new cinnamon sugar treats — crispy on the outside and soft and doughy on the inside — will be made fresh throughout the morning and served hot.
The chain tested them in select Illinois restaurants in 2018 to get the perfect texture.
"Donut Sticks are the perfect complement to our existing breakfast lineup, and pair deliciously with our fresh brewed premium roast McCafe coffee,” said Linda VanGosen, the chain‘s vice president of menu innovation, in a news release. "We looked at several donut shapes, tested a variety of doughs and even worked to get the amount of cinnamon sugar just right for the recipe. We are thrilled to be making breakfast at McDonald’s even more delicious by introducing Donut Sticks."
McDonald‘s, which began serving all-day breakfast in October of 2015, in January.
